Why East Facing Houses Are Highly Auspicious
East facing houses are among the most sought-after in Vastu Shastra — second only to north facing. The east direction is governed by Surya (the Sun) and Indra — the lord of health, vitality, fame, and social connections. Morning sunlight enters directly into the home, bringing warmth, positivity, and natural energy throughout the day.
According to 📖 Manasara and 📖 Mayamata, east facing homes receive the purest solar energy as the sun rises. This promotes good health, early rising habits, and a naturally positive environment. East is ideal for doctors, teachers, government officials, and anyone seeking public recognition.
Main Door Placement — Auspicious Padas
The east face is divided into 9 padas. Unlike south facing homes which have only one auspicious pada, east facing homes have multiple good padas — making them more flexible for construction.
Padas 1, 2, and 3 near the north-east corner are the most powerful — they align with both Surya and Indra's energy zones. Padas 8 and 9 near the south-east (Agni corner) should be avoided as they bring health issues and financial instability.
